INNOVATING SPEED

Developing our fastest trail running shoe didn’t happen overnight.

2021

01.2021

Analysis began into races and athlete needs to create a fast, technical trail running shoe that wins on the down hill

06-09.2021

Multiple prototypes of the Agravic Speed Ultra were created which tested a variety of concept designs, material combinations, midsole geometries, and technologies:

  • Multiple midsole foam compositions were explored with the goal of optimising energy absorption during higher impact of running downhill, as well as energy return during flats and climbs. midsole shape and design for running on trails.
  • Finalised Energy Rod design – providing propul-sion for the run ner tuned for the trail by eliminating risk of pressure points underbot from rocks and uneven terrain.
  • Multiple traction patterns were explored to provide appropriate grip for fast running on trails and reducing weight.
  • Rocker geometry analysis was performed to establish appropriate midsole shape and design for running on trails.
